A Big Hearted Response

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Newtown Woman’s Club I would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to everyone in town who responded to our appeal for “Valentine Veterans.”

A great deal of thought and creativity was evident in many of the cards and the response was overwhelming. They were contributed by many groups in our town including: students in cluster 7A with Ms Hersch at the Newtown Middle School, students in home schooling with Ms Green, Mrs Wenblad’s second grade class at Middle gate School, Mr Sequenzia’s eighth grade confirmation class at St Rose, Brownies in Troop 674 at Head O’Meadow School, Girl Scouts in Troop 890, a Trinity Church class, and members of our own club. Many other cards were dropped off by individuals.

I am sure they will all brighten Valentine’s day for many of the men and women cared for by Connecticut’s Veteran Hospital.

Sincerely,

Pat Denlinger
