An Amistad America Update

BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Community Historical Society will celebrate Black History Month at its meeting on Monday, February 28, at 6:30 pm. The group will be meeting in North Branch Library, at 3455 Madison Avenue.

George Bellinger, the chairman of Amistad America, will tell the history of the famous slave ship Amistad. He will also discuss the Amistad America project at Mystic Seaport, where shipbuilders are building a full-size replica of the famous schooner. Updates will also be given on the spring tours.
