Public Programs At Audubon Center

SOUTHBURY — Bent of the River Audubon Center will be holding a “Winter Bird Walk” program on Sunday, February 25.

The Center is located on the Pomperaug River, with field and woodland areas to explore. Participants will look for ducks, raptors, and songbirds. Beginning and experienced bird watchers welcome.

Meet in the visitor parking area at 9 am. For more information and directions, call 264-5089. The center is at 185 East Flat Hill Road, off Route 172.

A “Glaciers and Geology of Bent of the River” walk will be held at 9 am Wednesday, February 28, at the Center. Center Manager John Longstreth will introduce participants to the geology of the area.

Learn about how the unique feature for the “Bent” in the Pomperaug River was formed. Meet at the visitor’s parking area.
