Middle Gate Reflections Winners
Eleven Middle Gate students were recently selected to represent their school at the state level of the National PTA Reflections Program, a nationwide K-12 cultural arts program. Judging was based on artistic merit, creativity, and interpretation of the theme, âMy Favorite Place.â More than 70 applicants were divided into two age-based groups: primary, grades Kâ2; and intermediate, grades 3 and 4. Entries were accepted into six different categories: Literature, Visual Arts, Photography, Music, Choreography/Dance, and Film/Video.
This year, first grader Joshua Harper and fourth grader Miranda Wakeman were nominated in the Music category.
Second grader Ian Wilson and fourth grader Heather OâHara were chosen for their Visual Arts entries.
Second grader Brian Gallagher and fourth grader Abbie Odams were selected in the Film/Video category.
Second grader Elizabeth Chamiec-Case and third grader Evan DeGirolamo were recognized for their work in photography.
Second grader Nikhil Trivedi and third grader Jack Procaccini were selected in the Literature category for their writing pieces.
Second grader Emily McCoy was selected for her dance/choreography number.
