The Friends of C.H. Booth Library is sponsoring four free screenings of a family dramedy at Edmond Town Hall this weekend.

Showings of Babe are planned for Saturday and Sunday, February 20-21, at 1 and 4 pm.

While the screenings are free, seating is limited due to COVID-19 spacing protocols. Reservations are required and can be done online at edmondtownhall.org.

To comply with health regulations, a maximum of 100 tickets per show will be available in the 528-seat theater at 45 Main Street, with every other row roped off and three seats left empty between each seating area. By having online tickets, ETH staff can ensure that capacity regulations are not exceeded, and patrons know in advance whether tickets are available for the show they wish to attend.

Everyone must wear a mask in the building and in the theater.

Concession orders also need to be done online or over the phone. Orders can be placed before arrival at the theater, or from one’s seat and then picked up when the order is ready.

Babe was released in 1995. The family comedy-drama tells the story of Babe (voiced by Christine Cavanaugh), a pig raised by sheepdogs who learns to herd sheep with a little help from Farmer Hoggett (James Cromwell).

The film also features the vocal talents of Miriam Margolys, Hugo Weaving, and Danny Mann, among others. It is rated G and has a running time of 1 hour, 31 minutes.

Next weekend, Edmond Town Hall will host free screenings of the animated film Despicable Me. Showings of that 2010 family film are planned for Saturday and Sunday, February 27-28, at 1 and 4 pm. Reservations are available online.

Those movies are also being sponsored by Friends of C.H. Booth Library.

For additional information the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers office can be reached at 203-270-4285.
