From Basics To Design, Computer Classes At

Bethel Library

BETHEL — Bethel Public Library will present a special series of computer classes taught by Len Murray, a computer consultant and partner in Delta Technologies. The classes will be offered each Saturday during March and April (except April 14) and are by pre-registration only.

Register at the library or by calling 794-8756 during library hours. Classes 2 and 3 are expected to be cumulative, and people may sign up for consecutive weeks. The classes will be taught in the Computer Lab across the parking lot from the library.

Class 1, Computer Basics, will be conducted from 10 to 11:30 am. The class will cover basic computer operation and navigation and is designed to help anyone become familiar with a computer. Students will be taking the PC out of the box, turning it on, learning about some of the options and menu items, the operating system, how to manage files and use e-mail.

Class 2, “Introduction to Web Development,” from noon to 2 pm, will introduce students to what a Web site is comprised of – HTML, JavaScript, graphics, hyperlinks, etc.  This class has some focus on a career in Web development, and is somewhat progressive. However, students should feel free to join in or leave any time.

Class 3, “Programming and Advanced Web Development,” from 2:15 to 4:30 pm, has a strong focus on career. It is designed not only to teach all about software development, but to help students go on to obtain a rewarding career. It is helpful and recommended (although not necessary) to follow through with this class from beginning to end.
