Laura Susan Bannon and Mark Joseph Gravel were married August 19 at St George Church in Guilford. Monsignor Coleman performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mary and Chris Bannon of Guilford.
The groom is the son of Shirley Gravel of Watertown and Albert Gravel, Jr, of Elmwood Park, N.J.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Tracy Vernon as matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Shannon Hernandez; Ellen Cavanaugh, sister of the groom; Angela Bannon, sister-in-law of the bride; Joyce Ann Ferrucci, cousin of the bride; and Kathleen McIntyre.
Allison Gravel, sister of the groom, was junior bridesmaid, and Jessica Gravel, sister of the groom, was flower girl.
David Unger, friend of the groom, served as best man.
The ushers were Gregory Gravel, brother of the groom; Christopher Bannon, brother of the bride; Gregory Bannon, brother of the bride; Perry James; and Timothy Tomcho.
A swordsmen ceremony was performed by Daniel Caisse, Brian Clark, Josh Doty, Paul Filardi, John Gorham, David Johnson, John Leake, and Robert Rubino.
After a reception at WoodWinds in Branford, the couple honeymooned in Aruba.
The bride is a 1987 graduate of Guilford High School. She received her bachelorâs degree in therapeutic recreation from Southern Connecticut State University. She is employed at the Hamden Health Care Center as a recreational therapist.
The groom is a 1987 graduate of Newtown High School. He attended Central Connecticut State University. He is an active duty field artillery officer with the Connecticut National Guard. He is currently assigned as the personnel officer for the 2/192 Field Artillery, stationed in Westbrook.
