 WESTPORT — The Susan Fund, a Fairfield County-based scholarship program for cancer survivors who wish to pursue higher education, has begun the 2004 application process.

Awards are based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement.

The Susan Fund has been awarding scholarships to local students for over 20 years. The fund was established in memory of Susan David Lloyd, a Westport teenager whose dream was to attend college despite her cancer diagnosis and treatments.

Deadline is April 1.
