Benoit “Ben” Theriault

Benoit “Ben” Theriault, 84, formerly of Alpine Drive, Sandy Hook, died February 12 at the Filosa Convalescent Home, Danbury, where he had been a resident the past 15 years.

He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, April 24, 1919, a son of the late Simeon and Therese (Comeau) Theriault. He was a graduate of the Dartmouth Hospital School of Nursing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Ben was a longtime nurse at Fairfield Hills Hospital and was Supervisor of Nursing at the time of his retirement.

He was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church and a member of Virgilius Council #185, Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by a step-brother, Norman Theriault and three step-sisters, Theresa Theriault, Sister Agnes Theriault, DOJ, and Anita Theriault, all of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by a brother, Eli Theriault.

A Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated by Father Joseph Prince and Msgr George Birge on February 16 in St Rose of Lima Church. Interment was in St Rose Cemetery.
