âFâ Is For French
In February
Area residents are invited Saturday, February 21, between 10 am and noon, to join members of the Alliance Francaise at the Southbury Library on 561 Main Street, South, in the libraryâs Community Room. Topics of current interest will be read and used to stimulate conversation in French.
The following weekend, on Saturday, February 28, the Alliance Francaise will be sponsoring an informal round of Scrabble with members and guests invited to Michelineâs home between 10 am and noon for spirited word games in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
Play will be followed by a light lunch, but space is limited so please reserve by phone: 203-364-1220 or by email: French@VirtualRealms.com. Guests are invited to bring French Scrabble games and dictionaries. Players of all levels can participate. Games in English will also be arranged to accommodate non-French-speaking guests.
The following day, on Sunday, February 29, the film âMarius et Jeannetteâ will be shown at the Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, in Newtown in the Public Meeting Room. Films are shown between 2 and 4 pm in French with English subtitles.
