Covering The Shortfall

To the Editor:

This is an ongoing thank you to those people who worked so hard on the Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign this past year in Newtown.

When our report was in, we discovered we had earned $16.98 less than in 2002! This was due in part to some of our larger givers having to reduce their donations. The generosity of all who participated was overwhelming.

Another great big thank you to Jack O’Byrne, who rang bells for 2 hours, made his annual monetary donation, and then sent a check to cover the “short fall” now giving us a break even point to start next year.

Your caring is wonderful, Jack, and very much appreciated.

Very sincerely,

Marie Sturdevant
