Marjorie C. Scholl

Marjorie Crane Scholl, 85, of Dodgingtown Road, Newtown, died February 15 at Bethel Health Care. She was the widow of Elwood “Pop” Scholl.

Mrs Scholl was born on Long Island, N.Y., February 24, 1918, a daughter of the late Frederick and Anne Christie Crane. She and her husband moved their family to Newtown in 1947. She was a parishioner of St Mary’s Church in Bethel. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her son, James Scholl and his wife Cynthia of Bethel; a daughter, Sr Marie Christel Scholl, RSM of Middletown; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Scholl of Danbury; a brother, John C. Crane and his wife Irene of Carolina Shores, N.C.; five grandchildren, John Scholl Jr, Kristin Silvestri, Stephen Scholl, Jennifer Gilbertie, and Laurie Scholl; and five great-grandchildren, Casey, Molly, Sean, Jaime, and Dylan. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, John Scholl.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Mary’s Church, Bethel, on February 19. Burial was at St Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel.
