Presbyterians To Install New Pastor
Former pastoral intern Robert Tarullo will be ordained and installed as the full-time pastor of Community Presbyterian Church in a special service on Saturday, February 28, at 12:30 pm at the Newtown Meeting House by the flagpole on Main Street. All are invited to attend.
For the past six years, Mr Tarullo has served as a pastoral intern for churches in western Pennsylvania. He attended the Orthodox Presbyterian Churchâs Ministerial Training Institute in 1999 and received a masterâs in divinity from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh in 2000.
Mr Tarullo and his wife, Sarah, who are moving to Newtown from Coraopolis, Penn., both received bachelorâs degrees in English literature from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Penn. Mr Tarullo enjoys photography, racquetball, chess, and outdoor sports. His travels have included Greece, Israel, and Italy, as well the Canadian Rockies. Mrs Tarullo grew up in northern California and Hawaii and has family in Greenwich. In 1992 she spent seven months in Russia doing social work in Moscow orphanages. The couple is expecting their first child in mid-April.
Community Presbyterian Church meets for worship on Sunday mornings at 11 am and evenings at 6 p.m. at the Newtown Meeting House. Both adult and childrenâs Sunday school classes are offered at 9:45 am. Weekly and monthly Bible studies and fellowship opportunities are available.
