Have Aliens Arrived In Newtown?
Have Aliens Arrived In Newtown?
By Tanjua Damon
While some students travel to warmer climates or head to the mountains with their families for school vacation, T.J. Mueller and Tyler Law got creative and brought something from space to The Boulevard in Newtown.
The two middle school students brought an alien figure to Newtown showing drivers on The Boulevard that alien life does exist in the town and recent UFO sightings may not be a figment of anyoneâs imagination.
A Halloween costume that Tylerâs brother, Carter, made came in handy this week as Newtown students enjoyed a week off from school. Tyler and T.J. decided to continue the alien theme that a friend, Marc Doherty, used in December when he rented a video from the Movie Corner.
The middle schoolers spent time Tuesday night and Wednesday day alerting traffic to the alien presents at 11 Boulevard. The alienâs eyes are made from blinking strobe reflectors. A lawn chair sat on top of a snow bank where the two were catching the attention of all the traffic.
Since the two boys did not go off anywhere for this weekâs vacation, they decide to be creative and do something fun.
âWe didnât have anything else to do,â T.J. said.
Participating in unusual behavior is not unheard of for the boys.
âWe do a lot of funny stuff,â Tyler chimed.
Passing motorists had looks of hesitation, excitement, and uncertainty, but that only added to the entertainment of the boys enjoying vacation from school.
Honks and thumbs up were given by many of the cars that passed the Newtown alien. Some looks of disbelief were also seen.
âIt makes people finally slow down on The Boulevard,â Mrs Law said. âIt makes it a safer place to live.â
Neighbor Linda Whipkey thought the youths came up with a good idea to pass the time by.
âTheyâre here,â Ms Whipkey said. âThey are making good use of their time. Staying out of their parentsâ hair.â
Even though T.J. and Tyler did not make it out of Newtown, they did have a combination of snow, warmer climate with the lawn chair, and the creativity to have excitement during school vacation.
Newtown students head back to the classroom on Monday, February 26.
