Delita B. Webb

Delita B. Webb, 77, of 39 Knollwood Drive, Ridgefield, wife of the late Rev William H. Webb, Sr, died on February 20 at Danbury Hospital.

She was the mother of William H. Webb, Jr, of Newtown.

Mrs Webb was born in St Thomas, V.I., December 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Anthony and Edna (Adams) Sprauve.

A resident of Ridgefield for the past 43 years, coming from South Salem, N.Y., Mrs Webb was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Ridgefield, a member of the former Ridgefield branch of the NAACP, and a member of the Mt Pleasant AME Zion Church of Danbury.

Two other sons survive her, Raphael Tomaw of St Croix, V.I., and Larry D. Webb of Milford; three daughters, Conchita Tomaw of New Rochelle, N.Y., Judy L. Webb of Boston, Mass., and Nancy Wright of Ridgefield; a sister, Evelyn Desoute of St Thomas, V.I.; and seven grandchildren.

Private graveside funeral services and burial will take place in St Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield, with the Rev Mark Roderick, pastor of the Mt Pleasant AME Zion Church, Danbury, officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions in Mrs Webb’s memory may be made to the Danbury Dialysis Fund, Nelson H. Gelfman, MD Dialysis Unit, The Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, CT, or to the Mt Pleasant AME Zion Church, 71 Rowan Street, Danbury, CT 06810.

The Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, is in charge of arrangements.
