Dunkin’ Donuts To Award 100 Scholarships To CT Students

CANTON, MASS. — As part of a community partnership program and a continued commitment to local education, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees will award 100 scholarships, for $1,000 each, to qualified high school seniors in Connecticut. This is the fourth year of a very successful scholarship program that has donated more than $350,000 to Connecticut students to date.

This year the application process will be completely online at DunkinDonuts.com/scholarship. The official terms and requirements are also available at this address.

The scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the fall of 2007. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of “well rounded” character: positive academics record, demonstrated leadership, commitment to school and community activities, and experience in the work environment. In addition, full-time and part-time employees of Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees who meet the scholarship requirements are eligible and encouraged to apply.

According to The College Board, average tuition and fees for a private college are expected to increase by more than six percent this year.

Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees have partnered with the Connecticut Association of Schools and Scholarship America to administer the scholarship program and selection process. The deadline date for all online applications is March 31. All applicants will be notified of the final selection by mid-June.

Scholarship winners will be recognized during an awards ceremony with franchise owners and state dignitaries at the end of June.

Official terms, requirements, and application information are also available by contacting the Connecticut Association of Schools at 203-250-1111.
