New Arthritis Drug Guide
New Arthritis Drug Guide
Ten new drugs or treatment options have been approved for arthritis in the past two and a half years, according to the Arthritis Foundation. The foundation has just published an updated review of over 250 new and existing medications. A free copy of the new drug guide is available from the Arthritis Foundation.
The guide, a reprint from an article in the foundationâs magazine Arthritis Today, covers medications for arthritis and related conditions. The guide includes medications for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. There are also lists of new and existing medications for osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and gout. The guide also lists two new non-drug treatments. The Arthritis Foundation updates the drug guide every two years.
The guide lists generic and brand names, dosage, special instructions, most common side effects, and warnings and cautions for each medication. The updated version also contains a journal for people to track information related to changes when taking medications.
