Sydney Eddison On ‘Color For Gardens’ At Yale Art Gallery

NEW HAVEN — The noted Connecticut gardener and writer Sydney Eddison will demystify the art of color planning in the garden in a lecture entitled “Color for Gardeners: The Art of Looking.” The program will be at Yale University Art Gallery, 1111 Chapel Street at York, on Saturday, March 10, at 1:30 pm.

Mrs Eddison, who resides in Newtown, will illustrate her talk with slides of paintings in Yale’s collection as well as compositions in gardens and containers to show how artists and gardeners can coordinate color in their garden. The program, offered in conjunction with the current exhibition “Objective Color,” is free and the public is welcome.

A lifelong gardener, Mrs Eddison is a frequent contributor to gardening publications, as well as The New York Times and other newspapers. She has written several books on horticulture, the most recent being The Self-Taught Gardener.

For additional information, the art gallery can be contacted by calling 203/432-0600.
