The Newtown Scrapbaggers will be presenting an art quilt exhibition titled âElements of Architectureâ through April 6 on the main floor of the library during regular library hours.
Thank you to Bob Nosal for his lovely exhibit of toy trucks. They will be missed by the many boys and girls who have enjoyed visiting the display for the last month at the library. The children are hoping they will make a return visit soon.
Childrenâs Programs
Author Visit: Award-winning childrenâs author Jane Yolen will visit the library on Sunday, March 4, at 2 pm. Ms Yolen is the author of hundreds of books, including the Caldecott winner Owl Moon. Following the program she will be signing copies of some of her most popular titles.

Adult Programs
Tax Help: Ken Wilkinson is returning to the library on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4 pm during tax season to help with tax related questions. No appointment is necessary. Mr Wilkinson can be found in the Large Print Room, which is located next to the circulation desk on the main floor of the library.
Mystery Author to visit the Library: Marcia Talley, a relatively new mystery writer, will be giving a talk and book signing at the library on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:30 pm. Along with discussing her book, Sing It to Her Bones, Ms Talley will talk about how she started writing mystery novels, how she develops characters, as well as answering questions.
Marcia Talleyâs second book, Unbreathed Memories, came out in 2000, and her third, Occasion of Revenge, is due out in August. Please join us for this very special evening. Books will be available for purchase at the talk.
A Creative Sampler: Ginger Humestonâs five-part workshop on creativity has been wildly successful and she has offered to coordinate an evening class for those who were unable to attend the January-February workshops. Please call the library if you are interested in learning more about this program. The workshop will focus on ways we can all enrich ourselves through a variety of mediums.
Invasive Plants Program: Garry Ober, a popular speaker on gardening issues, will speak on Wednesday, March 7, at 10 am, in the meeting room. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.
Armchair Travel Series: Join us at the library for a âtripâ to Ireland with Ian McMahon on Thursday, March 8, at 7:30 pm, in the meeting room. Mr McMahon will share information on how to plan a successful trip to the Emerald Isle, as well as what to see and do once youâre there.
Bluebirds Are Back: Fred Comstock will give a slide show and talk on bluebirds on Sunday, March 11, at 2 pm. The program is free and refreshments will be served.
New Daytime Book Group: For all of you unable to make the evening book discussion please consider joining us at the library for a new daytime group. On Tuesday, March 12, at 1 pm, the group will be discussing Anita Shreveâs Weight of Water.
Book Discussion: The Booth Libraryâs Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, March 15, at 7:30 pm, to discuss Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner.
So You Think Your Familyâs a Mess? Gordon Williams and Liz Arneth will be leading a new discussion series on four great American plays that all deal with family relationships on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm. The series will begin on March 22 with The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, and then continue as follows: March 29, The Little Foxes by Lillian Hellman; April 5, Fences by August Wilson; and April 26, Long Dayâs Journey Into Night by Eugene OâNeill.
