Joseph F. Masso, Sr
Joseph F. Masso, Sr, 86, beloved husband of the late Vera (Boyko) Masso of Stratford, died on February 25 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He is survived by a son, Joseph F. Masso, Jr, and his wife, Dawn, of Newtown.
Mr Masso was born in Milford on September 29, 1915, and was the son of the late Leo and Marie (Concetta) Masso. He was a retired general contractor and masonry superintendent for the Brick Layer and Allied Craftsman Union Local 2 for many years. He was also a member of the Tashua Knolls Senior Menâs Club and a US Navy CB veteran, having served with the 94th CB Battalion during World War II.
Mr Masso is also survived by another son, Dr Peter D. Masso and his wife, Karen, of Suffield; one daughter, Nancy Marie Edwards and her husband, Walter, of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr Masso was also predeceased by one son, Roger; three brothers, Louis, Rocco, and Frank Masso; and one sister, Theresa Chalker.
Funeral services were held on February 28 in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2189 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, and in St Mark Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in St Michael Cemetery.
