Erwin H. Wippermann
Erwin H. Wippermann, 85, of East Hill Woods, Southbury, died on February 24 at his home.
The husband of the late Geraldine (Frain) Wippermann, he was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., October 17, 1918, a son of the late Erwin H. Sr and Nellie (England) Wippermann.
Two sons, Stephen D. Wippermann of Newtown; and Kenneth D. Wippermann and his wife Annmarie of Ridgefield; a daughter, Mary Wippermann and her husband M. Ford Fernandez of Bayside, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Kristina, Joanna and Kristen, survive him.
He attended schools in Richmond Hill, N.Y., and graduated from the Stevens Institute of Technology of Hoboken, N.J., with a degree in mechanical engineering and was a retired engineer with Cooper Industries of Hartford.
A resident of Southbury for the past 30 months, coming from West Simsbury, he was a member of the International Association of Electrical Engineers.
Graveside funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 28, at 11 am in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y. Friends will be received in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Friday, February 27, from 5 to 8 pm.
