UConn Health Center Plans Program On Menâs Health
FARMINGTON â During a special Discovery Series program dedicated to menâs health, experts from the University of Connecticut Health Center will discuss new developments in the detection, prevention, and treatment of prostate, colon, and rectal cancers on Thursday, March 4.
The Discovery Series is free. The program will begin at 7 pm in the Health Centerââs Keller Auditorium (use main hospital entrance.) Registration is required; call the Health Center at 800-535-6232 or 860-679-7692. The snow date is Tuesday, March 30.
Carolyn D. Runowicz, MD, director of the UConn Comprehensive Cancer Center, will serve as moderator of the program and will speak about the most exciting advances in cancer care and research.
Presentations will be made by Peter Albertsen, MD, a surgeon and widely recognized expert in prostate cancer care; Wayne Frederick, MD, a surgical oncologist with expertise in colorectal cancer; and Joel Levine, MD, a GI specialist who is pursuing new approaches to identify patients who are at-risk for colon cancer.
