Occupation: I’ve been a plumber since the mid-’80s. I started my own business, Pete’s Plumbing, in 1997 when the sewers went into the center of Newtown. I serve all of Fairfield County and occasionally a little farther when people reach out — there’s no limits. A day’s work is a day’s work.

Family: My wife is Antoinette. We’ve been married for 32½ years. We met when she needed a prom date in high school her junior year, and I stepped in. We have two boys, Pete and John. Pete lives in Stamford and John lives in Danbury. Both of them are CPAs.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Since 1967. I went through the school system — Middle Gate, Newtown Middle School, and Newtown High School. My wife had moved here in 1973 and went through the Newtown school system, too.

What do you like to do in your free time? Sports. I used to go to all my kids’ sporting events. They played baseball, basketball, and track. John is a three-time New England champ for track and was seventh in the country for shot put.

Do you have a favorite author? David Osborne.

What is your favorite travel destination? The Cape. We used to go every summer with family.

What is the best part about Newtown? It was a good place for me to grow up and a good place for my kids to grow up.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My parents, Pete and Mary. They both have passed away. The way they raised me, they instilled morals. My wife says she married the only honest plumber around.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? My father. I’d want to take my kids golfing with him. I wish I golfed with him more.

Who is your favorite musical artist? Metallica. I like any music from country to rock.

Do you have a favorite TV channel? Fox News.

What is your favorite food? I’m the pickiest eater. My wife’s Italian and I don’t even eat pasta. I like meat and potatoes — and chocolate.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Keep your head still when you’re putting.

What is something you cannot live without? Chocolate. I have it every day.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My kids. Both of them are drug-free, alcohol-free, and jail-free.
