VNA Faces $50 Late Fee

The Visiting Nurses Association’s (VNA) $500 budget request for the 2000-2001 municipal budget faces a $50 reduction after that administrative subcommittee of the Legislative Council recommended it be given only $450.

Committee member Will Rodgers made the suggestion after learning that the VNA budget had been submitted late. Both he and Joe Borst voted in favor of trimming the request to $450. However, Committee chairmen Melissa Pilchard and Ruby Johnson would not go for anything under $500. Finally, with the committee getting no where, Mrs Pilchard agreed to vote in favor of Mr Rodgers’ motion.

A lengthy discussion then ensued as to who was going to contact VNA President Mae Schmidle with the news.

The town makes a “contribution” to the VNA in its budget each year.
