Rollover

Motorist Sean Decker, 18, of 46 Cobblers Mill Road was driving a 2009 Honda Civic sedan southward on South Main Street about 9:30 pm on February 22, when Decker attempted to avoid a deer in the road, but lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the northbound lane, police said.

The Honda then struck a mailbox and a street sign, after which it went up an embankment near Homestead Lane and rolled over completely, coming to rest on its wheels, police said.

Ambulance volunteers treated Decker for a leg cut, police said. Botsford firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Decker a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Flagpole Intersection

A two-vehicle accident happened at the flagpole intersection where Main Street, Church Hill Road, and West Street meet at about 6:06 pm on February 17.

Police said motorist Kelly Scholl, 50, of Middlebury, who was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 sedan, was southbound on Main Street and then stopped at the flagpole in preparing to make a left turn onto eastbound Church Hill Road.

At that time, motorist Charles Loria, 70, of Seymour, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, stopped at a stop sign on westbound Church Hill Road and was preparing to make left turn onto southbound Main Street.

As the Chevrolet attempted to make the left turn, the Chevrolet struck the Mazda, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they gave Loria an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.
