The next meeting of the Genealogy Club of Newtown is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, in the meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

The meeting will begin at 7 pm, but those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early for some coffee and time to converse with other members and friends before the meeting begins.

The March presentation will be by Penny Hartzell, who will discuss “Let’s Get To The Point... Of Entry.”

Although the majority of immigrants to the United States arrived through New York City, other cities were often the first ports of call. What were those cities, and where can those passenger lists be found?

Ms Hartzell has been a researcher for 44 years. After retiring in 1998, she became a professional genealogist.

Ms Hartzell currently volunteers as an assistant librarian at the LDS Family History Center in Newtown.

All are welcome to attend Genealogy Club of Newtown meetings, free of charge. Club membership is available for $20 for a single membership and $30 for a family.

Longtime club member Bea Morgan is available on Mondays from 2 to 4:30 pm to offer help starting research projects. The library has a dedicated computer that is free to use, with ancestry.com and other related websites for research.

Ms Morgan is also available by appointment. She can be reached at 203-304-1861.
