Patricia A. Hadad, 80, of Newtown, wife of the late George M. Hadad, died on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at her home. Mrs Hadad was born in Danbury, October 14, 1941, the daughter of the late Eric and Josephine (Morrissey) Ekelund.

The Ekelund family resided in Wilton, where Mrs Hadad attended Wilton schools. A lifelong area resident, Mrs Hadad was a retired bookkeeper with The Newtown Bee and was a member of the Faith at Newtown Church. Mrs Hadad enjoyed the time she shared with her family and church family.

She is survived by a son, David Hadad, and his fiancée, Donna Bowden, of Southbury; a daughter, Michele Hadad, of Glen Cove, N.Y.; a brother, David Ekelund, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; four grandchildren, Erica Hadad, David Hadad, Jr, Matthew Hadad, and Michael Hadad; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs Hadad was predeceased by granddaughter, Kristi Hadad, and a brother, Eric Ekelund.

Funeral services will take place on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 1:30 pm, in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury, with Pastor Tim Kuhn officiating.

Interment will take place in Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown, in the spring.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Sunday from noon to 1:30 pm.
