Daniel “Coach” Winsett, 74, from Calabash, N.C., passed away on January 5, 2024.

Dan was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on October 12, 1949. Coach spent most of his lifetime teaching elementary school, middle school, and high school students in both the Cuyahoga Falls and the Newtown school systems. His love for teaching was the fabric of his life. Coach’s unwavering happiness and positivity truly made him one of a kind.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Bessie, his dad, Glen, and his brother, Tyler. He is survived by his son Jason, daughter-in-law Heather, and granddaughter Grace.

A celebration of life will be held on April 20 in his hometown of Cuyahoga Falls, where he will be laid to rest at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In his honor and remembrance, please look to your local youth sports programs and provide support wherever you can. The family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.
