A Comfy Quilts Sew-In

SOUTHBURY — Quilters of all levels and backgrounds are invited to join members of The Connecticut chapter of The American Sewing Guild during a community service project.

Chapter members will host a Comfy Quilts Sew-In, where member and non-member sewers will make lap quilts for cancer patients in area hospitals.

The event will be on Tuesday, March 7. It will run from 10 am until 3:30 pm, and participants are welcome to volunteer for as long as they can – 30 minutes to all 5½ hours. The project will be undertaken at Yankee Quilter, 1481 Southford Road (Route 67).

Participants will need to bring their own sewing machine or serger, neutral thread, a rotary cutter, basic sewing supplies, an optional donation of 6-inch squares cut, and their own lunch.
