Ethel Keeley Pond-Sabo

Longtime Pastoral Care Office Volunteer At St Vincent’s

Ethel Keeley Pond-Sabo, 89, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Harold J. Pond and Zoltan Sabo, died on February 22 at St Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Mrs Pond-Sabo was born in Bridgeport, a daughter of James F. and Josephine Clark Keeley.

Survivors include two devoted sons, David W. Pond and his wife, Katherine, of Newtown and James H. Pond and his wife, Evelyn, of Bridgeport; two brothers, Robert T. Keeley and his wife, Virginia, of Bridgeport and Thomas Keeley and his wife, Betty, of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Margaret Bradbury of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Julie A. Pond, Christopher J. Pond, Jeffrey H. Pond and his wife, Nicole, William J. Pond and his wife, Karen, Captain Sean D. Pond, US Army, and Allison F. Pond; two great-grandchildren, Julian Burgos and Aubrey Pond; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, James (Bud) Keeley, predeceased her.

Mrs Pond-Sabo was a retired executive secretary for Travelers Insurance Company. She was a member of the Assumption Church Seniors and a longtime volunteer for the Pastoral Care Office of St Vincent’s Medical Center.

Funeral services were held February 27 from the Larson Funeral Home, Bridgeport, and Assumption Church, Fairfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
