For Women, The Obstacles Of Starting A Business

On Monday, March 6, the next meeting of Working Women’s Forum will feature a program called “Top Five Obstacles Women Face Starting a Business... and How to Overcome Them.”

Women who are tired of working for others and desire to run their own show or who have a passion they would love to translate into dollars face some serious obstacles in becoming a business owner, but they can be overcome. Ann Anderson will present a program covering the challenges and how to deal with them, including what a business owner can do to make sure her new business is one of those that lasts well beyond the five-year mark.

Ms Anderson, the owner of Rooms Reborn, helps people feel good about their homes. She decided to turn her intense love of interior decorating into a new career.

She studied at Sheffield School of Interior Design in New York City. Prior to her interior redesign career, she worked for a major US corporation in various locations throughout the country. She has combined her 20 years experience as a trainer and professional speaker with her skills as an interior redesign specialist.

The meeting will be on Monday, March 6, at Sal e Pepe, 97 South Main Street (Route 25).

Networking begins at 6, and dinner will be at 6:30. Cost for dinner is $25 for members, or $35 for nonmembers.

Contact Kelly Urso at 364-1667 or rsvp@WorkingWomensForum.net to make a reservation and decide on an entrée.

The Working Women’s Forum is an organization that provides a forum for working women to meet and grow professionally and personally through education, networking, and the sharing of ideas and experiences. For additional information visit WorkingWomensForum.net.
