Outstanding Students Sought For Nicholas Green Award

WESTPORT — The Connecticut Association for the Gifted (CAG) is accepting applications for nominees for the Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award. This award was established by Maggie and Reg Green to honor the memory of their 7-year-old son Nicholas who was killed in a drive-by shooting. The Greens partnered with the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) to create this award to recognize young people who are working hard to make the most of their lives and to develop their unique gifts and talents.

The award seeks to recognize distinguished student achievement in academics, leadership and/or the arts. Each state selects one finalist who receives a $500 US Savings Bond and a Certificate of Excellence from NAGC.

Nominations of students currently in grades three through six will be accepted from parents, teachers, students, community, and civic groups. Student self nominations are also accepted. For more information visit www.ctgifted.org. Nominations must be postmarked by March 31.
