Theodore J. Seiter

Former Director Of Software Technology For GE

Theodore J. Seiter, 72, of New Hartford, N.Y, formerly of Newtown, died February 25 at his home. He was born December 25, 1933, in Utica, N.Y., son of Lloyd and Minnie Siedsma Seiter.

He graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1951 and served in the US Army during the Korean War. On February 1, 1958, he married Gladys Moczek in Holy Trinity Church in Utica. Mr Seiter worked for 40 years at General Electric Company, retiring as director of software technology at corporate headquarters in Fairfield. He was a member of St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown and of General Electric’s Elfun Society.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Daniel Seiter and his wife, Kristi, of North Carolina; a daughter, Linda Seiter and her husband, James Keszenheimer, of Ohio; four grandchildren, Teddy and Matthew Seiter and Sophie and Jimmy Keszenheimer; and his mother, Minnie Siedsma Seiter. He also leaves a brother, Charles and his wife, Ginger, of Tennessee; four sisters, Sr Annette Seiter, OFM of New York City, Virginia and her husband, Jack Burth, of Sauquoit, N.Y., Jean and her husband Michael Johnson of Mohawk, N.Y., and Kathy and her husband, Lane Krenichyn, of Herkimer, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Millie Kantor of Yorkville, N.Y., and Stella Morse and her husband, Ray, of Old Forge, N.Y.; and many, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews. His father, Lloyd Seiter, predeceased him.

The family would like to thank Dr Ghassan Abou-Alfa and his compassionate staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and also Dr Atul Butala and his staff in Utica.

Funeral services were held March 2 from the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, New Hartford, N.Y., and at St John the Evangelist Church. Interment will be in Mt Olive Cemetery.
