Tsunami Victims Still Need Help

BETHEL — St Thomas’ Episcopal Church is planning a special fundraising dinner for Saturday, March 6. A menu of southeast Asian foods will be prepared by a professional chef, and all of the proceeds from admission sales will be given to the American Red Cross to continue the relief efforts for victims of the December 26 tsunamis in southeast Asia.

Dinner will be served at the church, 95 Greenwood Avenue (Route 302, opposite Bethel Food Market), from 5 to 8 pm. It will feature chicken satay (skewered chicken marinated with red curry) with coconut-peanut dipping sauce, samosas (spiced potato-stuffed pastries with mango chutney), Pad Thai (rice noodles with vegetables, chicken and shrimp), pineapple fried rice with Chinese long beans, tomato, garlic and ginger, and fresh tropical fruit for dessert.

Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $5 for children. There is no charge for children ages 5 and under. Also, a children’s menu will be available.
