Ashley & Zachary Smith

Ashley Klabonski and Zachary Smith were united in marriage by Enock Yatri on October 9, 2010. The ceremony was held at First United Church in Ansonia, and represented the fifth generation on the bride’s side to be married in that church.

Ashley is a daughter of Cindy and Tony Klabonski of Sandy Hook. She was given into marriage by her father. A reception at The Waterview in Monroe followed the wedding.

For her wedding day Ashley selected an A-line Maggie Sottero gown that featured a ruched bodice. She carried a bouquet of red roses created by Flowers by Danielle.

Maid of honor was Amanda Klabonsky of Sandy Hook. Bridesmaids were Megan Altomare and Pam Izzo of Derby and Sara DeGennaro of Trumbull, cousins of the bride, along with Jaime Willie, Lara Wallmark, and Courtney Smith of Newtown, Elizabeth Kuvent of Manchester, and sister of the groom Rayni Sivley and Kaylil Smith of Hartselle, Ala. The attendants wore red satin knee-length dresses designed by Bill Levkoff, and carried matching bouquets with red, orange, and yellow roses. The maid of honor’s bouquet, while similar, was also accented with feathers.

Zachary is the son of Maryann and Chip Smith of Newark, Del.

His best man was TJ Morin of Rocky Hill. Ushers were brother of the bride Anthony Klabonski of Sandy Hook, as well as Rob Hohnor of Nyack, N.Y., and Aaron Kuvent of Manchester.

Alivia Aubin of Derby and Madison Farrer of Monroe served as flower girls. Jaylen Williams of Derby was the ring bearer, and Michael DeCennaro and Christopher Klabonski were junior groomsmen.

Mrs Smith is a graduate of Newtown High School and the University of Connecticut, where she earned an MSA in accounting. She is employed by the accounting firm of Whittlesey & Hadley.

Mr Smith is a graduate of Hartsell High School and also of the University of Connecticut. He earned a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, and is employed by the Northampton VA Medical Center in Massachusetts.

Having celebrated their wedding with a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the Smiths have returned to their home in Springfield, Mass.
