Bernard Testani

US Navy Veteran

Bernard “Bernie” Testani, 58, of Newtown, died at home, February 23. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Dominick and Claire Testani, and was a longtime Bridgeport resident.

As a Naval veteran, he served his country proudly during the Vietnam era and was a former employee with F.M. Testani, Inc of Fairfield. He also owned and operated the former Bernie’s Dog and Deli in Bridgeport. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and motorcycles.

Mr Testani was a true friend to all. He would always be there with a helping hand and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by the loves of his life, a daughter, Stephanie Norling of Stratford; one granddaughter; his beloved uncle, Fausto Testani, and his wife Eugina, of Trumbull; his aunt, Louisa Testani Vincenzi of Frosinone, Italy; and several cousins, here and in Italy. He was predeceased by his parents and an uncle, Sante Testani.

Funeral services were held February 28. Burial was in St Michael’s Cemetery, Bridgeport.
