Hugo Wolf Quartett Returning To Edmond Town Hall Theater

Newtown Friends of Music will present Hugo Wolf Quartett in the theater of Edmond Town Hall on Sunday, March 20, at 3 pm. It will mark a return to Newtown by the group, who performed an early March 2010 concert in the same venue.

The quartet was founded at the Vienna Conservatory 15 years ago. Members are violinists Sebastian Gürtler and Regis Bringolf, violist Gertrud Weinmeister and cellist Florian Berner.

The program on March 20 will include Haydn’s Sunrise Quartet; Intermezzo for String Quartet in E-flat Major by Hugo Wolf, and String Quartet in C-sharp minor, Opus 131 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Single tickets are available at the box office, located in the lobby of the former town hall building, for $20 (cash or check only).  Students K-12 are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.  The box office will open one hour before the start of the concert. Reservations are also accepted by calling 203-426-6470.

Parking is free behind Edmond Town Hall and the facility is handicap accessible. An informal reception following the concert will offer concertgoers the opportunity to meet and mingle with the musicians.
