Family Daycare Business

WATERBURY — With proper planning, a family child care business can deliver a stable and profitable income. The Women’s Business Development Council is hosting a three-night program that will explore what is necessary to start a successful home daycare business.

The sessions run Tuesdays, March 15, 22, and 29, from 6 to 9, at the Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury. The workshop subject matter is as follows:

Session I: The ABCs of Daycare — Learn what is necessary to start a home daycare business, including education, state licensing, and insurance.

Session II: Talking to the Experts — Gain insight and guidance in starting a home daycare from a WBDC panel on finance, education, and community resources.

Session III: Getting Started with a Plan — Begin to develop a business plan; review the business concept, and evaluate its viability.
