Mark L. Delohery

A Loving Spirit

Mark L. Delohery, 48, died February 28, at the Hospital for Special Care, New Britain, surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by his brother, Sean Delohery, and his wife Peggy, of Newtown and his sister, Susan Delohery Magersuppe, and her husband Carl, of Danbury; and several other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, James J Delohery, Jr and Lillian St Ours Delohery, and his oldest brother, James J. Delohery III.

Disabled in a car accident at age 19, Mr Delohery was an inspiration to everyone he knew and met. He always demonstrated love and respect for family and friends, was a great listener, and never lost his sense of humor. A lifelong resident of Danbury, he was known to many as “OyOy.” He was an avid sports fan.

What Mr Delohery loved most of all was being around his family and friends, especially his two nieces and nephew whom he loved so dearly.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at the Hospital for Special Care for the excellent care given Mr Delohery over the last five years. A special thanks to Daniel LeBlanc, whose unwavering friendship remained steadfast.

Calling hours were scheduled at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, Thursday, March 3, from 5 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph Church, Main Street, Danbury, Friday, March 4, at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospital for Special Care Foundation Step-down Unit, 2150 Corbin Avenue, New Britain CT 06053.
