Nissan Off Road

Motorist Brett Boles, 29, of 56 Marlin Road was driving a 2012 Nisan Murano SUV southward on Marlin Road and then made a left turn onto New Lebbon Road at about 5:36 pm on February 12, after which the vehicle went off the right road shoulder and struck a snowbank, police said.

There were no injuries. Police report they verbally warned Boles for making a restricted turn.

Chevrolet Vs Pole

Police report that motorist Michael Haase, 44, of Oxford was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt sedan southward on Toddy Hill Road, just north of its intersection with Button Shop Road, at about 12:30 pm on February 6, when the auto went off the right road shoulder, striking a snowbank and a utility pole.

There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Haase for making a restricted turn.

Forest Drive

A two-vehicle collision occurred near 44 Forest Drive in the Riverside section at about 12:50 pm on February 22.

Police report that motorist Dawn Ertl, 31, of Naugatuck, who was driving a 2012 Honda Civic sedan, was exiting a residential driveway as motorist Konrad Miller, 52, of 72 Forest Drive was driving a 2010 Hyundai Sonata sedan westward on Forest Drive.

The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries.

Lyrical Lane

At about 8:37 am on February 22, near 3 Lyrical Lane, motorist H. Landivar, 37, of Kent, Wash., who was driving a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup truck, was exiting a residential driveway, as motorist Herman Vogel, 69, of 11 Lyrical Lane was driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza station wagon westward on Lyrical Lane, police said.

The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Landivar a written warning for a right-of-way violation.

Botsford Accident

Police said they are seeking information from any witnesses to a two-vehicle accident that occurred about 8:50 am on February 25 at the intersection of South Main Street and Button Shop Road.

The collision involved a gray 2009 Kia Borrego SUV and a white Honda Pilot SUV.

Police ask any witnesses to the collision to contact officer John McCluskey at the police station at 203-426-5841.

South Main Crash

A two-vehicle collision occurred on South Main Street near its intersection with Prospect Drive about 7:53 am on February 25.

Motorist Amy Albero, 29, of Stamford was driving a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV northward on South Main Street and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Hyundai was struck from behind by northbound motorist Stephanie Spath, 22, of 15 Rockywood Drive, who was driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, police said.

Police said an emergency medical technician at the scene evaluated Albero for possible injuries. Police said they issued Spath a written warning for following too closely.

Evading Responsibility

Police report a two-vehicle accident on Great Ring Road in Sandy Hook about 8 pm on February 26.

Police report that a local teenager was driving a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck southward on Great Ring Road, when a northbound white box truck hit the Ford.

The people in the Ford were not injured. Police said the driver of the box truck drove away from the accident scene. The box truck would have crash damage to its left, exterior rear-view mirror, police said.

Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the incident to contact Officer Felicia Figol at the police station at 203-426-5841.

Intersection Accident

Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Sugar Street and Elm Drive about 12:40 pm on March 2.

Police said motorist Philip Scappatura, 73, of 4 Beaver Dam Road was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer SUV northward on Elm Drive, as motorist Matthew Wood, 53, of Woodbury was driving a 2009 Honda CR-V SUV eastward on Sugar Street.

The Ford then entered the intersection, resulting in the Ford and Honda colliding, police said. There were no injuries. Police said Scappatura received a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.

An unidentified man, who was inside PJ’s Laundromat in Sandy Hook Center, was injured at about 3:36 pm on Saturday, February 28, when a woman, who was driving a 2009 Toyota Venza SUV, inadvertently backed into the front door and wall of the building, damaging the building’s façade. Police said motorist Deborah Ludorf, 53, of Southbury was driving the Toyota when its rear end smashed into the building. Sandy Hook volunteer firefighters responding the incident used cribbing and stabilizing struts to temporarily brace a second-story balcony on the damaged structure. The injured man was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment, police said. A damage repair firm responded to the scene at 110 Church Hill Road to make some immediate repairs. Police said they verbally warned Ludorf for unsafe backing.
