Attack Wins Title Again

The Newtown Attack eighth grade girls’ basketball team won the Fairfield County Basketball League Title for the second year in a row. Results of the team’s recent games are as follows:

Attack 50, Bridgeport/ Trumbull 30: Tressa Scott had 6 and Meaghan Harkins scored 7, both player highs. Bridget Power led all scorers with 12. Samantha Steimle and Kristy Papaj controlled the boards

tearing down 7 rebounds each.

Attack 40, Ridgefield/ St Mary’s 31: Erin Kenning and Stephanie Roman led the offensive attack. Lydia Beiter had 4 assists. Maddy Good and Claire Miles combined for 4 steals and 9 rebounds.

Attack 50, Southbury 28: The Attack finished up league play with a win over Southbury to go undefeated. Erin Kenning scored a season high 16 points and Claire Miles had 14 rebounds. Lydia Beiter scored 8 and had 3 steals. Stepahanie Roman and Meaghan Harkins combined for 9 assists and Tressa Scott had 4 blocks.
