Newtown High School students involved in the high school’s upcoming production of Peter Pan have been rehearsing for the March 20 to 23 showings of the musical.

Peter Pan tells the story of a boy who lives in a land called Neverland and never grows up.

Performances will be Thursday to Saturday, March 20 to 22, at 7 pm; and Sunday, March 23, at 2 pm. Ticket prices are TBA.

Professional equipment will be brought in to bring the story’s magic to life on the NHS stage. In order to afford the equipment and professional assistance to install the equipment, however, further funding is needed. NHS parent Linda Watson set up a website (www.gofundme.com/6b741k) to raise a goal of $5,000. Corporate sponsors looking to contribute to the cause can email matsonj@newtown.k12.ct.us, to reach director Jane Matson.

By Thursday, March 6, $2,080 had been raised through the website.

More than 75 students will appear in the cast, including junior Victoria Madden as Peter Pan and a cadre of ballerinas, including senior Lauren Russo as Tinker Bell.

A full cast list is available at .http://www.nhschorus.com/musical.html

Victoria Madden, center, who is portraying Peter Pan in the high school’s upcoming production of Peter Pan, rehearsed with the “Lost Boy ensemble” on Sunday, March 2.
