Brittany Katherine McClure and Joshua Michael Overmiller were married on July 14, 2007, on the beach at Long Boat Key, Fla. The Reverend Daniel Maiden officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at Sea Place Clubhouse, Long Boat Key, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Elaine McClure of Newtown. She was given into marriage by her parents. For her wedding day, Brittany wore a white A-line silk chiffon dress with crystal straps, and carried a small clutch of red, orange, and yellow flowers that included bird of paradise, pincushions, calla lilies, orange stars of Bethlehem, carnations, and orchids.

Maid of honor was Laura McClure of Stamford. Her dress was a blue, gray and white sundress. She too carried a small clutch of flowers that included red, yellow, and orange arrangements with pincushions, calla lilies, stars of Bethlehem, carnations, and orchids.

The bridegroom is the son of Bob and Bebe Overmiller of Prince Frederick, Md. Bridesmaids were Katie Bloom of Norwalk, Conn., and Melissa DeSooma of Rockville, Md. They wore blue-gray sundresses and each carried a small clutch featuring red, orange, and yellow pincushions, carnations, calla lilies, and stars of Bethlehem.

Best man was Justin Brooks of St Louis, Mo. Ushers were Jeffrey McClure, brother of the bride, from Roswell, Ga.; and Andrew LaRoche of Lewes, Del.

The bride graduated from Newtown High School, Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering, and also of University of Maryland with a master’s in atmospheric chemistry. She is employed as a software engineer for Northrup Grumman.

Mr Overmiller graduated from Calvert High School, and then earned his bachelor’s in computer engineering at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. He then studied toward his master’s in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

Following a honeymoon to Siesta Key, Fla., the Overmillers have returned to their home in Lincolnshire, England.
