Thomas Joseph Kirner

Loving Husband, Father, Son, And Brother

Thomas Joseph Kirner, 47, of Brookfield, died February 23 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City. He was born in Euclid, Ohio, July 20, 1960, a son of Richard Charles Kirner and Joan Faye (Stevens) Kirner.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Elizabeth, and their children, Analee, Shane, and Nicolette. He is also survived by his identical twin Michael A. Kirner and his wife, Evelyn, of Newtown; a brother, Richard C. Kirner, Jr, and his wife, Anita, of Sherman; sisters, Patricia J. Baker of Albany, N.Y., Margaret A. O’Connell of New Haven, Kathleen M. Rasmussen and her husband, Thomas, of Avon, Mary Clare Kirner of Winsted, Anne Marie Kirner of Windsor, and Maureen A. DeWolf and her husband, Keith, of Canterbury; his mother, Joan, of Winsted; and 14 nieces and nephews. His father predeceased him.

Mr Kirner was employed for more than 20 years at Metro-North railroad and recently retired as a locomotive engineer. He was a member of the parish family of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in Brookfield.

A memorial service was held February 28 at The First Assembly of God in Brookfield.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Paul’s Church, 174 Whisconier Road, Brookfield CT 06804 for mission work in the Diocese of Western Tanganyika, or to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 750, New York NY 10021-0036.
