Brenda (Rangoni) Wilkes, 74, of Newtown, wife of the late Peter Wilkes, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, Danbury.

Mrs Wilkes was born in New Milford, on March 22, 1947, the daughter of Frederick and Marian (Ohmen) Rangoni, and resided in Warren, Conn., where she in early years attended Warren schools.

In later years, she attended Danbury High School, graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1965, and graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Mrs Wilkes was employed with Grolier, Inc and in more recent years, Pitney Bowes, where she was an administrative assistant in their logistic division.

She was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, and was a volunteer at the Festival of Trees sponsored by Ann’s Place.

Surviving Mrs Wilkes is her niece, Andrea Rangoni, and a nephew, Thomas Rangoni, both of Newtown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Rangoni.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday morning, March 12, 2022, at 11:30 am in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury.

Interment will take place in Wooster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Saturday morning after 10:30 am.
