Newtown High School students are busily preparing for the spring musical, Footloose, to be staged later this month. The musical, similar to the popular motion picture, takes place in a small town where dancing has been banned.

Performance dates and times are Thursday, March 17, to Sunday, March 20, at 7 pm, and a 2 pm performance is set for Saturday, March 19.

General admission is $20, students and seniors is $15. The musical is being performed on the stage in the high school’s auditorium, 12 Berkshire Road.

A final dress rehearsal is also set for Wednesday, March 16, as a free performance for senior citizens in the community. The NHS Culinary Department is preparing boxed dinners for the evening’s guests and the performance will begin at 6 pm.
