Daquan poured in a league-high 51 points as My Place Pizza out-gunned Newtown Phone Book, 88-84, in The Gym at Newtown Men’s Basketball League.

Rich tossed in 17 points and Bob Rogers Sr. added 14 more for the Pizza makers. For Phone Book, Pat Sullivan canned 27 points, Steve Bigham tossed in 23 and Steve Hordos added 22 more.

Five different players scored in double figures as Pantan Landscaping clobbered Southbury Printing, 74-48. Rafael Cardoso led the way with 18 points as Rich Engel (16), John Pantan (14), Mike Fern (14) and Torrence Lamb (10) powered the offense. For Southbury, Jay Platt popped in 16 points, Fred Plescia added 15 and Mike Kish and Justin Phillips combined for 15.

All five players scored in double figures to lead D’Amico Painting to an 83-72 win over Garage Door of Newtown. Steve D’Amico and Aaron Vangor popped in 18 points apiece while Rob tossed in 17, Sally added 16 and Jeff LaFlamme contributed 14. For Garage Door, Tim Frawley Jr canned 29 points, Tim B. added 15 and Joe Brown tossed in 12.

Kevin Barrett scored 27 points to lead Total Pool & Spa to an 80-56 win over The Gym at Newtown. Gary Jossick added 24 points and Frank Galante tossed in 21. For The Gym, Jeff Haddad canned 23 points as Ken Wright tossed in 16 and Mike Button added 11.

Women’s Basketball

Tori Anderton poured in 37 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Alpine Realty to a 68-54 win over Newtown Mobil in the final night of the regular season.

Alpine laid claim to first place with a 10-6 mark.

Kelly Fengler added 18 points and a career-high 10 blocks. For Mobil, Kelly Pinckney canned 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Laurie Bain tossed in 16 points and dragged down 10 rebounds. Amy Proulx contributed 10 points.

Holly Ferguson scored scored 18 points to lead Dr Gellert to a 49-46 win over Walsh Logging. Jody Rajcula added eight points and eight rebounds while Colleen Gregory tossed in seven points. For Walsh, Lisa Schang canned 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Jen Z. tossed in 15 points.

Maura Keenan poured in 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Colorgraphics to a 63-59 win over The Gym at Newtown. Colleen Ruiz added 20 points. For The Gym, Jaime Murphy popped in 19 points while Jen Thomas tossed in 17 points.
