Occupation: I am an interior designer and have my own company, Creative Interiors. I went to FIT [Fashion Institute of Technology] in New York for fashion design, and then switched to interiors. I’ve been doing interiors for about 14 years. My specialty is window treatments, but I do everything from choosing furniture to floor plans, fabric selections, accessorizing and colors. I love it.

Family: My husband, Kim, who is in sales with Manhattan Products. My son, Kyle, is 20. He is a sophomore at St Joseph’s in Philadelphia. My daughter, Kristie, is 16 and a junior at Newtown High School.

Pets: We have two pets. We have a golden retriever, Jake, who is 6 years old and Tobey is a Yorkie-Poo. He is 8 years old. He runs the house.

How long have you been in Newtown? We have been in Newtown for eight years.

What do you do in your free time? Anything outdoors. I just love being outside. Swimming in the summer, being on the lake. We have boat and take it out boating on Lake Lillinonah. I don’t like the cold much, but in the winter, I love to ski, especially in Breckenridge, Colo. We don’t get there often, though. I like Mount Snow, too, because it’s so close.

Do you have a favorite book or author? James Patterson is my favorite author. Cat and Mouse is my favorite book by him, but I love all of his books. They are mysteries and they keep you on the edge of your seat. I haven’t been disappointed. I do go back and forth between mysteries and romance books, though.

What is your favorite travel destination? The Caribbean. Anywhere warm. And I love California. We just came back from a place just outside of Puerto Viardo, Mexico. We were right on the water and I find water very calming. It was the prettiest place I’d ever been.

What is the best thing about Newtown? The people. I have met so many wonderful people here. When Kim was with Unilever we moved several times. We lived in Illinois, Ohio, New York. It’s always hard to move. But the people are what make a place and the people here are warm and welcoming. I consider Newtown home now.

Do you keep anything interesting in your purse? Everything and anything. Remember Let’s Make A Deal? I would win. I have everything you can imagine in my purse, including food, and I always have hand warmers in my bag.

Where would you like to be in 20 years? I would really like to be doing volunteer work in something that matters. What I do now is wonderful and my family is so important, but I’d like to get to a place where I can do something that makes a difference.
