Women’s Center Sets Date For Fundraiser

RIDGEFIELD — “Shelter from the Storm,” the fourth annual fundraiser to benefit the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury, will be held Friday, May 19, at the historic Lounsbury House in Ridgefield. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Money raised from the special evening will benefit the many women, men and children who are served by the Center, which covers 14 local towns from Ridgefield to Bridgewater.

This year’s honorary chairperson will be Peggy Marconi of Ridgefield, who has been a strong supporter of the Center for a number of years.

Guests at the gala event will enjoy dinner “by the bite,” an array of wines and desserts, a silent auction featuring a wide variety of goods and services donated by individuals and area businesses, and a live auction that will showcase such exceptional items as 100 bottles of wine and a variety of exquisite jewelry. A lucky raffle winner will go home with tickets to an all-inclusive trip for two to Cancun.

Tickets to the event are $75 and reservations are strongly suggested.

For more information, visit the center’s website, WomensCenterOfGreaterDanbury.org or call 731-5200.
