PAFA TALK ON ‘VITAL SIGNS’ APRIL 23

AVV 1-18 #726164

PHILADELPHIA, PENN. — “Vital Signs: The Pyramid Club and African American Art in Philadelphia” will be the subject of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ Art-at-Lunch talk on American art and culture on Wednesday, April 23, from noon to 1 pm.

In the middle of the Twentieth Century, the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia asserted itself as a vital center of social and cultural activity in the African American community. Join newly appointed Edna S. Tuttleman Museum Director David Brigham for a talk about the art exhibitions of leading African American artists, as well as the work of socially conscious white artists like Julius Bloch.

The academy is at 118-128 North Broad Street. For information, 215-972-7600 or www.pafa.edu.
